Terms of Service & User Agreement

Effective Date: December 6, 2025

1. Acceptance of Terms

By installing, accessing, or using the Acuity Narrative Integrity Engine ("Service," "Acuity," "Extension," or "App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, you must immediately uninstall and discontinue use of the Service. These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Acuity.

2. Nature of the Service (The "AI Disclaimer")

You acknowledge and agree that Acuity is an automated research tool powered by Large Language Models (LLMs) and probabilistic algorithms.

No Guarantee of Truth: The "Integrity Score," "Verdicts," and "Forensic Analysis" provided by the Service are algorithmic opinions based on linguistic patterns. They are not statements of absolute fact.
Hallucinations: AI models can and do make errors ("hallucinations"). Acuity may incorrectly flag legitimate content as manipulative or fail to detect actual manipulation.
Not a Publisher: Acuity acts solely as a technological filter. We do not edit, modify, or create the content you scan.

3. Prohibited Uses

You agree not to:

Use the Service to harass, defame, or target journalists or publications.
Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the proprietary source code, prompts, or API logic.
Use the Service for automated high-frequency scraping (unless authorized via B2B API agreement).
Rely on the Service for life-critical, medical, legal, or high-stakes financial decisions.

4. Intellectual Property Rights

Our IP: The Acuity brand, code, scoring methodology, System Prompts, and "Analysis Data" (the aggregate scores and detected patterns) are the exclusive property of Acuity.
Your License: We grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive license to use the Service for personal or internal research purposes.

5. No Professional Advice

The Service is for informational purposes only.

Not Financial Advice: A high Integrity Score on a financial article does not constitute a recommendation to buy or sell assets.
Not Legal/Medical Advice: Do not use Acuity scores to determine the validity of medical claims or legal documents.

6. Disclaimer of Warranties ("As Is")

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE." WE EXPRESSLY DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, ACCURACY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE ANALYSIS WILL BE ACCURATE, UNINTERRUPTED, OR ERROR-FREE.

7. Limitation of Liability (The "Shield")

UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES SHALL ACUITY, ITS DEVELOPERS, AFFILIATES, OR PARTNERS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM: (A) YOUR RELIANCE ON ANY SCORE OR ANALYSIS PROVIDED BY THE SERVICE; (B) ERRORS, MISTAKES, OR INACCURACIES OF CONTENT; (C) ANY INTERRUPTION OR CESSATION OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIM SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID, IF ANY, TO USE THE SERVICE.

8. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Acuity and its team from any claims, damages, obligations, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including attorney's fees) arising from: (i) your use of the Service; (ii) your violation of these Terms; or (iii) any claim that your use of the Service caused damage to a third party.

9. Dispute Resolution (Class Action Waiver)

Any dispute arising from these Terms shall be resolved through binding arbitration. You waive your right to participate in a class action lawsuit or class-wide arbitration.

10. Modifications & Termination

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We also reserve the right to terminate or suspend your access to the Service immediately, without notice, for any reason, including violation of these Terms.

11. Governing Law

These terms shall be governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without respect to its conflict of laws principles.
